Kidney Disease information
online kidney patient informational center and support system
People Like Us is a patient advocacy movement that seeks to empower, educate and encourage individuals with chronic kidney disease as well as transplant recipients, living donors and donor family members. The goal of this resource is to help patients learn about the treatment options for kidney failure, so they will be able to make the best choices for themselves and their family. We hope the information is used as a springboard for discussion with families, doctors and other members of a health care team. People Like Us Online provides an outlet for patients to connect with others battling the same diseases through online message boards, and coffee house conversations. Furthermore, an annual People Like Us conference is held for patients to discuss and to learn new methods of living well with chronic kidney disease. The better informed you are, the better your outlook for a successful long-term treatment and quality of life. For more information please visit: http://www.kidney.org
